Stolte Scholarship Fund

HACC would like to remind us of the Stolte Scholarship Fund available to provide a one-time grant of $500 to a college or seminary student studying for the ministry or other church related vocation. Interested applicants must be from the greater Hanover area, complete an application form, and submit a brief summary of his or her call into ministry and future vocational goals. The deadline is April 30, 2018. Contact Kathy Bortner at 717-637-6973 or for more information.

Slagle Scholarship

In 2018 we will again award  $750 scholarship to a graduating senior of Hanover or South Western High School who plans to enter the nursing profession, the ministry or other religious work, or attend a vocational school.

Applications for the scholarship can be found on the table in our bell-tower room.  They were also mailed to both schools and should therefore be available in their guidance offices.  Completed applications must be received at St. Mark or post-marked by Friday, March 30.

Sunday School Project

Do you have a red barn or pink pig bank and are you filling it with your change?  This is an ongoing project until Easter. Help us collect money to provide animals for people in need. An animal can make a world of difference for a family in need. Animals provide food to eat and fertilizer to sell on the market.

With our gifts, we can help a family escape the cycle of hunger and poverty for good. We hope that everyone at St. Mark (children, youth, and adults) will help with this project. Look for the banks in the narthex, take one home and start saving your change. THANK YOU!

Sunday School - 3 Classes

This year we are offering THREE classes for children, yes, THREE!  But, as expected, adding more classes creates more need for volunteers.  The children’s ages for these classes start with nursery and go up to 6th grade.  Think how cute and receptive and creative children are at these ages.  Think how much fun you would have working with them. Please contact Martha Lippy and volunteer for these special ministries.

New Adult Class on Sunday Mornings

Our adult intergenerational Sunday School class continues. It meets from 10:20 - 11:20am and is geared toward teenagers to seniors, men and women. Donna Jones and Martha Howells lead the discussion.

All are welcome to attend.

No previous experience needed.

We even can provide the Bibles.

Bible Study - Book of James

Starting December 1st, from 10:30am to 12 noon we will begin a new study of the Book of James.

Come find out why Martin Luther called it “a letter of straw” but at the same time come and glean some very important teachings from within the book. Bibles can be provided and no previous experience necessary. No prior Bible knowledge or experience is necessary to share in this informative study.
